We have a lot of great independent fly fishing guides here in Xcalak. I am putting up profiles of the guides in this space. I have personally been out fishing with every one that is highlighted here so I can personally vouch for their expertise and professionalism.
I can't believe it has taken me this long to go out with Evaristo but I finally did. Evaristo is known to some of my guests as the "permit whisperer", as he is one of, if not the best, permit guides here in Xcalak. And true to form, first day out with Evaristo produces not one but two very nice permit for the boat. Check out the video by Mountain Media. He has very good eyes, and excellent boat handling skills, putting you in position to make your shot. If you are a permit addict like me, you appreciate a guide that will happily chase the black tail devil all day long, in all conditions.
