Restaurant Review – La Braceria

Restaurant Review – La Braceria

Overview

If you are staying in Tulum on your way down to Xcalak, and you have a hankering for a good steak, give La Braceria a try.

Our Experience

So we went to La Braceria on the recommendation of one of our neighbors and fellow Xcalak Hotel owner. We were spending the night at the Casa Sofia in Tulum and decided to check it out. By the way, if you do stay at Casa Sofia, it is literally on the next block.

The restaurant is a block off the main drag, so you don’t get the crazy traffic and loud party’ers wandering by. The restaurant itself is open air, which is quite nice. It has a nice sophisticated feel without feeling stuffy.

Sometimes in Mexico it is difficult to find a good steak. If you have that problem, La Braceria is a good cure for that. We ordered the rib-eye, a giant bone in rib-eye steak, that was plenty for two of us. It comes out on a small hibachi to keep it warm. It was delicious. Nice warm bread with some salsas help you start. They also had quite an extensive wine list as well.

A couple of things to try. Our waiter Victor poured us a flaming Tequila and Kahlua cocktail. Not sure what it’s called. But it’s actually quite tasty as well as being fun to watch him mix it. And don’t forget to order the Cuban style Neapolitan Ice Cream Cake for desert.

So if you are in Tulum for the night and feel like a good steak. highly recommend La Braceria.
